Our commitment to puppy health

At Harrison Farm Teddy Bears, your puppy's well-being is our top priority. Learn about the comprehensive health checks, vaccinations, and loving care every one of our Shichon puppies receives.

Our puppy's journey to wellness

Every Harrison Farm Teddy Bear puppy receives a thorough head-to-tail physical examination by our licensed veterinarian at [6 or 8] weeks old. This includes a careful check of their heart, lungs, eyes, ears, and joints, ensuring they are in peak condition. They will have received their first round of the 'puppy series' vaccinations (DHPP/DA2PP) to protect against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza.

Nurturing healthy beginnings

Beyond vet checks, our puppies are on a strict de-worming schedule starting at 2 weeks of age, ensuring they are free of common parasites before joining your family. They are raised in the heart of our home, not in a kennel, daily exposed to household sounds like the vacuum, television, and kitchen activity. We start handling their paws, ears, and coats early to prepare them for a lifetime of grooming, including their first 'introductory' bath and nail trim. They are socialized daily with adults and children, so they arrive confident and ready to bond.

Healthy parents, healthy puppies

The health of our parent dogs, the Sire and Dam, is paramount to ensuring healthy puppies. While the specific tests vary, they undergo comprehensive health screenings recommended for the Shichon breed. This ensures that any potential hereditary conditions are identified and addressed, contributing to the overall health and longevity of our puppies. We believe that a strong foundation starts with healthy parents.
